The Body Shop - Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion

When I was in my teens, I never really suffered from spots. I got the odd 'time of the month' breakout but I was lucky enough to suffer from any form of acne. Well or so I thought!
I'm now on the not so good side of 25, and seem to be having constant breakouts. We're not just talking about a few simple spots, but horrible ones that don't don't seem to come out to a head and so far under the skin that they seem to make it look like I've got a bruise on the side of my face (and its always on the side of my chin).
Joy!
I usually only getting one of these nasty ones a month but they seem to last ages! and really do leave a nasty scare that takes such a long time to fade.
So I thought I'd give the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion a go, as at this point it really can't make it any worse! I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I've really noticed the left over red areas fading. Obviously this hasn't happened overnight, however it really has improved the look of both sides on my chin and I really don't think I could go without it.

Ok so yes I love it! but I do have one problem - I really hate the Tea Tree smell. I know its crazy, why buy a Tea Tree product if you don't like the smell, but I know that Tea Tree is good for blemishes. So despite this, I'm definitely going to repurchase (unless someone can recommend a good alternative)

MUA Shade 4

Like a lot of other people out there, I got a little excited when Superdrug announced that they would be stocking a £1 makeup range. I have to admit however that it didn't really wow me - not quite sure what I was expecting for a £1 but a lot of the range did look a little cheap (once again I know its only a £1 but the Lip gloss I picked up broke within 2 days of having it!).
However I have really liked a few bits, in particular the Lipstick in Shade 4. It looks quite a bright pink but it goes on sheer as you can see below
(without flash)

I love the colour and because of the sheer nature of the lipstick it makes it a perfect everyday lipstick and for a £1 its amazing!

Sudocrem in a squeezy tube

Just a quick bank holiday post.....

Sudocrem for me, is one of those products that you just can't live without. I always make sure I keep a tub in as you're never quite sure when you'll need it. Its great for sunburn, dry skin and mass breakouts.

Only issue I every had was a problem with the tub - its not really hygienic and I usually end up with it all under my finger nail (so not good!)

Well now you can get a small squeezy tube for £1.99, which
is great and way more functional.

Soap and Glory - SuperEyes Moisturising Eye Gel

Now this is supposed to reduce visible wrinkles and depuffs your eyes (especially if stored in the fridge). My mum picked this up for me for my birthday - she'd listened to me moaning for a while about he fact that I couldn't find an eye cream/gel that I liked.

I wouldn't say I'm concerned about wrinkles just yet, but I do suffer from puffy eyes in the morning! So as you can imagine with statements such as 'reduces wrinkles' and 'depuffs', you can imagine that its got to include a lot of different ingredients - so I've checked Soap and Glory's website for the main active ingredients....

What’s inside that counts?
- A Swiss Syn-Ake like venom Stimulating Age Fighting Tripeptide: to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles by
inhibiting the micro-contractions on the surface of the skin
- A Collagen-Stimulating Tripeptide: to firm and regenerate
- SWIFTLIFT™ Technology: our instant tightener
- Micronised Light-Reflecting Pigments: that instantly camouflage fine lines and wrinkles
- Caffeine: it depuffs your thighs, so why nto use it on your eyes

So the gel itself is transparent with a slight shimmer effect to it (I'm assuming that's the light reflective pigments), which you can see in the picture below

Once you get it on your eyes, you just need to pat it in (not rub) and your done. Have to admit it does tingle a bit once its on.

I've been using this morning and night since I got it in July (and surprisingly I've still got over a half a tub left which is quite nice since its only £8.00 from Boots) and although I've not seen any changes in the few lines I have. But as I said above I don't have any real concerns yet about wrinkles so I'm not too concerned that I haven't noticed any difference.

I love using it every morning. It really cools and depuffs my eyes and its a great start to the day. I haven't tried it in the fridge as I probably wouldn't remember to use it if a did.

Overall I love this - it just perks me up first thing and its just a good start to the day.

NOTD - Hen Do Fab!

So its my sisters Hen Do tonight and we thought we do a quick NOTD of her nail varnish. She wanted a charcoal colour however she spotted the the Rimmel Lycra Pro in Pearl Black. So thought she'd give it a go!

She's put 2 coats on over false nails and we're both loving it. You can really see the pearl effect in the pic below - I'm actually quite jealous cause this is definitely a look I would go for haha!

Only one problem really!

It states on the bottle that it comes with a mess free brush however she still had to go over with a cotton bud and remove a few bits down the sides, so not quite mess free!! Other than that just love it.

Perfectly fabulous for tonight!
Planning on trying to do OOTN and FOTN of us all tonight and I'll try and get them up tomorrow!
Roll on the cocktails.......

Until Our Wedding

getting married in daysCreated by Wedding Planning Advice

Ok so I've been engaged for awhile but we'd made the decision that we would get married next June and had provisionally booked the day as the 25 June 2011, but after a few problems this weekend with a reception venue we've now moved the date forward a month!! and we're now getting married on the 21 May 2011!

So basically I now have 9 months, 1 week and 4 days to get everything organised. Have to admit even though I'm excited, its all a bit scary at the same time.

Wish me luck!

Pore Minimizer Refining Serum

I'm back!!

Sorry I know I've been a rubbish blogger recently, everything has just been a bit manic. It was my birthday, then my niece's, my mums, my stepdaughter's this weekend just gone and its also my twin sister's Hen Do this coming Saturday and her wedding is on 4th September. So as you can see, lots on!!

Anyway wanted to get a quick post up, of a recent impulse buy from Clinique.

Ok so this claims to:

"immediately and overtime minimises the appearance of enlarged pores due to excess serum production or from aging and the breakdown in collagen lattice"

Which is quite a bold claim - and I'm not delusional, I firmly believe that you can't alter the size of your pores but I was hoping that this may just help with keeping my pores clear etc and improve their overall appearance.

Its semi-transparent and I have to say - its looks sort of like silicon, which is a bit weird.
I've been using this every morning and night for about a month.

I don’t know if I can say that I’ve really seen any difference. Around my nose does look generally better, however I think that’s more down to my improved daily routine (what I really mean is I now have a daily routine) rather than just this one product. It hasn’t blocked my pores or caused any breakouts, which is a definite plus point but for £16.99 I just don’t see any truly positive results.

Overall – Just not that impressed and won’t be repurchasing!

I need to accept that fact, that I’m just not going to be able to get rid of my pores!
